The point at which a group needs more than one car depends on luggage as much as headcount. A saloon comfortably takes four people and two large cases; beyond that, an estate or MPV covers five or six with moderate luggage, and an 8-seater is usually the better choice once you are into a full minibus-sized group or travelling with a lot of bags, sports equipment or musical instruments. For groups of ten or more, it is often more practical to split across two vehicles travelling together than to rely on a single larger bus, particularly for airport runs where flight tracking needs to apply to the whole party.
